Honda civic driving problems?
I have a 96 Honda civic dx acd I got an oil change two days ago and got new tires. Since then it's having trouble braking and accelerating and seems to want to veer to the right when I drive. I checked all the fluids. Power steering, brake, coolant etc and they're all good. What could be the issue?
New tires? Hmm… Veering off like that can sometimes mean one tire is lower than the other, but that can be a very subtle thing. If they didn't touch your front end at all, and it sounds like they didn't, it shouldn't be an alignment. Key word: SHOULDN'T.
BUT, remember also, if the 2 new tires are not the same as the 2 older tires, other very subtle changes in ride can sometimes happen. MOST people, though, would never notice.
I wonder if perhaps one brake caliper is sticking? When you try to brake, do you get pulsations through the pedal? Do you hear any noises? Did they properly balance your 2 new tires? Are those tires directional and mounted backwards (I have seen this many times).
I think maybe the best thing would be to talk to the shop that did the work.
- What is a good mileage to look for in a Honda Civic, Scion xB, and Toyota Prius to be used for a few years without too many problems? I'm looking at the above mentioned cars to be used for 1-3 years, but I do not know the mileage to look for. I d like to know the milage lifetime for each car mentioned, and approximately at how many miles the car will survive without having consistent problems. If you could give me the answer for each kind of car, or even one of them it would be greatly appreciated.
- My 1995 honda civic is having problems running at idle? My car runs great when i'm driving but when i stop at a stop light, it will bog up and down. When i press the gas, it will run fine again. It is only when my foot is on the brake. It also runs fine when it is in Park. Help me please! I have already replaced the spark plugs.
- Known problems for a 1998 Honda Civic with a manual transmission? I'm looking to buy a 1998 Honda Civic with a manual transmission. I want to know the main problems with these cars. I know a lot of people dislike these cars and call them "rice burners" but I like them in my opinion. **Good comments as well as bad comments**
- I have a 2000 Honda civic si. I'm having brake problems? I have replaced the calipers, rotors, and pads. I have also replaced the master slave cylinder. The brakes do work and I can bring the car to a stop. But the pedal is almost to the floor until the pads make contact with the rotor. I bled the master cylinder and brakes correctly. Fluid comes out of all bleeders so that is not the issue. Does anyone have any ideas?
