Honda Civic Idle Problem?
I have a 1.5L carby 1993 civic hatchback, and it runs well except I have an idling issue. It will stick at 2000rpm for the first 5-10 minutes of driving, and then at a set of lights of when I stop the idle will just drop from 2 straight down to 1000rpm and stay there. Also, on a short trip where the idle does not drop below 2000rpm, when I turn the car off it will burble and keep running even when I have turned the key off. However, this only occurs when the rpm is at that 2000rpm range, not at 1000. What is going on?
Sounds like your choke needs to be cleaned as it is sticking open too long or the choke pull-off mechanism is not working properly - pretty easy fix one you figure it out - My guess would be the choke pull off is failing.
- Newer Honda Civic idle low/uneven - would fuel system cleaner All of a sudden I keep noticing that the idle on my Civic is low or uneven and it seems like it might stall out sometimes. I'm wondering what different things it could be and could it possibly help to use on of those additives that supposedly clean the fuel system.
- My 1995 honda civic is having problems running at idle? My car runs great when i'm driving but when i stop at a stop light, it will bog up and down. When i press the gas, it will run fine again. It is only when my foot is on the brake. It also runs fine when it is in Park. Help me please! I have already replaced the spark plugs.
- I have a problem with my radiator and antifreeze, What could be the problem? Hi guys I have a Honda civic lx 97, I bought about 7 months ago, since then I have bought a new radiator because the old one had a huge leaking problem, anyways I never new How long a gallon of antifreeze could last me. I now know I use too much (I've bought two gallons once the first time i changed the radiator, again today[spand time of 4 months]) antifreeze I don't see any leakage, what could the problem be?
- 2011 Honda civic 1.8 dx model has ac problems at idle? When driving at higher speeds the ac works fine. When you get to traffic (congestion) the ac stops working. Took it to a BIG SHOP everything is fine with the system. They said take it to Honda. What can be wrong with this ac system?
