Honda Civic LX 2001 Transmission
So today my car was pretty normal and everything was perfect in the morning once I drove it back home.
In the afternoon I left to go to a friends place not that far from me and stayed for a couple of hours once I drove back out to my house the car just suddenly revved up and my acceleration was decreasing so I pulled over to the side an had a family member tow me.
So my guess is that the transmission is finally done. Is this worth fixing? I know Honda civic parts are dirt cheap but what about the transmission? Also I was wondering if I could put a JDM transmission from in my car would it work? Here is the link: https://www.ebay.com/...3104309857
Check the axles before you start pulling the transmission. If an axle broke, replacing that is a hell of a lot easier than a transmission.
You'd guess? Have you maybe checked the fluid level?
Go to a local auto recycler and have them quote you on a replacement used tranny. It's not worth buying a rebuilt transmission to put in a 2001 vehicle.
Hi so what do you expect from what is now a 16 years old car. Designed to last just 8 years a MIRACLE maybe.
Not sure if yours still applies, but you might wanna check this out before you replace it. It might be better to have it rebuilt…

- Transmission going out on friend's 2004 Impala. Is it possible to install a manual transmission taken from a 1992 Honda Civic in this car? Not worth replacing trans on a car this old, but the engine and everything else are still perfect. My friend was able to get a free manual trans from a 1992 Honda Civic. But i'm not sure whether or not you can use a trans from a different vehicle
- Would a 1990-2001 Acura transmission fit into a honda civic? I'm trying to swap automatic transmissions because the civics transmission blew out. I have these transmissions to choose from: 1990-2001 Acura Integra1998-2003, Acura TL type s, and Acura CL type S. All of it is automatic. Any answers are appreciated I need to decide fast It is a 1995 honda civic.
- Can you put a 7 speed manual transmission in a car that comes stock with a 4 or 5 speed manual transmission? I'm just curious to know if this is possible or if anyone has tried it. I wany to know what is possible to get the most out of a car. I'm probably going to be getting an acura(no hondas) and doing the necessary upgrades, turbo and all that. If anyone has any experience let me know
- Should I get a transmission flush on my 2001 Honda Accord DX with 165,000 miles on it? Well it's more like should I buy my friend's 2001 Honda Accord DX with 165,000 miles on it? He told me that there's nothing wrong with the transmission, but since the car is old that I might need to flush out the transmission.
