Honda Civic Making Noises?

I have a 2010 Honda Civic LX with 119,000 miles on it. Recently I've been hearing noises from the passenger side of my car. When I turn my wheel to the right there's a certain point where I hear a chirping noise. Also whenever I go over speed bumps my car squeaks pretty badly. Any idea as to what my problem is? And if so, how much is it going to cost me?

It could be any number of things. My recommendation is just to take it to a couple of auto repair shops, including a honda dealer if they have one. Get some quotes on what the repair would be, what needs to be fixed now, and what can wait. As long as it's safe to drive otherwise, take a day and get some diagnostics done. Diagnostics should be free, but ask ahead of time before you drive over there. Some places may need appointments. Then, pick the place that fits your budget.

Can't say. Insufficient description. Could be a bad CV joint. Costs about $350 to $700 per side, depending on the cost of labor in your area.

At that mileage I'd look at the brakes. There's a wear sensor on the brake pad that scrubs the rotor and squeals when the brakes wear to a certain thinness. I bought premium aftermarket brake pads for $50 and installed them myself. The dealer wanted $100 for the front pads and an hour labor, plus lathing the rotors, Which did not need resurfacing. For just front brakes they wanted almost $300.

Sounds like the classic ball joints and tie rods.Go over a speed bump without the brakes to isolate the noise.Tie rods are for steering so turn without brakes and speed bumps.Brake the car without steering or speed bumps to isolate the brakes. This is known as a process of elimination. You can even draw out a flowchart if you have access to pencil and paper.

The ball joint can seize and snap and the wheel will collapse.A helicopter to the hospital costs $50K. Maybe you have a recalled Takata airbag that will deploy a shard of steel into your eyeball. You can celebrate talk like a pirate day all year long. My estimate is that your kidneys are worth $100K to the medical industry.Type with a stick in your mouth as a new year's resolution.

Most likely brake pads are worn real thin and are letting you know with the Chirp or Squeak or squeal or scream like a Banshee that you need to change the pads before you eat the rotors. They can tell as soon as you drive to the bay doors and apply the brakes. "Keeel Me" is brake pads… Just before rotors get damaged. Fix As soon as possible. Should be relatively inexpensive. It is the cost of owning a car. You got to keep it in good condition. BRAKES are important for stopping. If you can't afford taking care of a car, you should not own a car. That simple.

  • Honda Fit front ride side noises? My car makes a tin foil in the wind or whistling sound as if steam is hitting metal on the right side. (With window rolled down) Inside the car windows rolled up it sounds like metal scraping or dragging it stops when I break but it off and on and not all the time making the noise when I drive. I notice it when i turn right it seems to start but it sometimes does it without the turning
  • Is it normal for a 2011 Honda civic to have loud wind/rattling noises at about 65 MPH? I'm test driving a 2011 Civic. I like the way it drives, but I took it on the highway and when it reaches 65 mph it makes a loud noise it sounds like wind blowing through the left side of the car. The faster I go the louder it sounds. Is that normal. I have been driving the dealer crazy for over a week now.
  • I drive a 2013 Honda civic is making humming/winding noise? Noise occurs upon acceleration and deceleration. The pitch coincided with the speed of the car. Not necessarily the throttle. Car seems to shift just fine. Slight vibration in the pedals. No jumping or sputtering. It does however seem to come from the front of the car. Any thoughts?
  • Honda Civic making weird noise while turning after running over a curb? I have a 2010 honda civic and I ran over a curb the other night and it made a pretty bad sound but nothing was hanging and it drove just fine. But now, 3 days later, its making a weird noise when I turn. Wondering what it could be?
