Honda Civic Manual single clunk when pressing on gas and letting go?

I think I have an issue, I have a manual Honda Civic 2010. I noticed that when I'm already in gear, like already switched to second for example and I'm cruising just say from 22mph and then naturally slows down to 19mph so I press the gas a little to go back to 22 I hear a single like clunk noise and as soon as I let go of the gas I hear another clunk. It's mostly just on gears one and two that happens. Any idea what's wrong? Haha

Probably a CV joint in one of the front half-shafts. Not a terribly hard fix anymore.

If you have a roll stop mount under the motor/tranny in the middle they tend to have that sort of play when they go bad.Put the car in 4th gear while turned off, open the hood an lean your weight against the bumper to rock the car back and forth while watching the motor move. Excessive motor movement is what you are looking for.

Check your engine mounts for wear. The motor/gearbox assembly is moving too far with the engine's torque is applied.

Sounds like a worn CV axle/s.

  • Clunk every time I shift into reverse? I have a 2003 Acura RSX w/ 135000 miles. Every time I shift into reverse I hear a loud clunk I sometimes hear it but more faintly when it shifts to 2nd gear. The transmission shifts smoothly and I don't hear and grinding or any other abnormal sounds besides that clunk. What could the issue be? BTW honda/acura vehicles don't have ujoints since iv'e been told before it might be that.
  • Why does my Civic 5spd clunk from reverse? I have a 2001 Honda Civic 5 speed 1.7L and when I back up and let off the clutch there's a pop/clunk sound from the front end. It seems to only do it after pushing in the clutch and releasing power after reverse. I can't find anything obviously loose, is it the CV, tranny, or something else?
  • RPM of car increases really fast, barely pressing the gas pedal? I drive a 2008 Honda civic ex and I noticed that when I press the gas pedal lightly the tachometer increases really fast like up to 2000-3000 rpm and the car is not even going 50 mph. Is it normal for the rpm of the car to go really high when I barely press the gas pedal? My car has about 60,000 miles on it if it helps and I have had no issues with it since I bought it.
  • How does my car start with out pressing in the clutch? I just bought a 97 Honda Civic hx. The dude told me that he took a pin out of the clutch pedal or something like that, not sure if it's legit but it will start with out the clutch in neutral. How?
