Honda civic won't accelerate when pressing the gas pedal?
I have a 2002 honda civic ex, automatic transmission. I'll turn my car on and will slowly go a short distance and stop and when I turn into a four lane my car will not go. It will going about 5 miles and when I press on the gas pedal nothing. The engine won't make a sound it just won't speed up. Sometimes this last anywhere to five seconds to a minute. I've gone to mechanics and they've all assumed it's the fuel pump. I replaced the pump but it's still doing it. It doesn't happen everytime. Only when I'm starting off slow like in parking lots. Mechanics can't figure it out! And it's terrifying cause I've almost been hit.
You'll need to tell me the code in the PCM first and the code in the TCM second. Honda vehicle in the same era has transmission problem.
Depend on the VIN number of the affected Civic, it'll require replace the A/T or update the PCM with the latest software. Do not know if you can see this clearly or not. If it's not, then give me your E mail address so I can send the TSB to you. HTH

I drive a 2008 Honda civic ex and I noticed that when I press the gas pedal lightly the tachometer increases really fast like up to 2000-3000 rpm and the car is not even going 50 mph. Is it normal for the rpm of the car to go really high when I barely press the gas pedal? My car has about 60,000 miles on it if it helps and I have had no issues with it since I bought it.

I tightend up throttle cable and that did nothing. It's a y7 motor with a 4-2-1 header, skunk2 intake and skunk2 76mm throttle body. I thinking it may be ecu but not for sure.
