Honda enthusiasts help? Or any mechanic?
Got a 1990 Civic hatch, recently someone loosened my lug nuts and messed up my studs and hub so i replaced the hub and put the new axle nut on and everything and now it won't spin at all like its locked in place but it spun before i put the nut on? Possible causes?
If you tighten up the axle nut, it locks up the bearings. It should be tighten just enough to take the play out of the bearings. That is why it has a cotter key in it. The cotter key keeps the nut from turning even though it is not cinched down tight.
Compare the new hub with the old one, you may have a wrong hub application. With the vehicle resting on all 4 wheels, tighten the spindle nut to the proper specification and stake the nut in place to 134 ft. Lbs.
- My motorcycle will not recharge the battery. Any help would be appreciated? When replacing my reg. Rec. On my 1996 Honda VFR 750 I cut all three wires that lead from the stator to the reg. Rec. Without keeping track of the order. (not my brightest moment). I have since fried my regulator rectifier trying to figure out the order the wires should go. Is there any way to figure out which wire should go where? Any help would be appreciated.
