How do carmakers decide which way a particular model's windshield wipers wipe?
I have owned 2 cars with 2 different wiper patterns; I had a Chrysler Concorde with the typical wiper pattern you see on most vehicles (passenger side to driver side) while my current car is a Honda Civic with center-folding wipers. Having seen vehicles on the road with both wiper types, I have often wondered how car companies make that decision.
Its made by designers when deciding what market will be its main user. E.g. If european its wipers will tend to sit on one side. If say UK needs to be on opposite. As such most common cars have ability built in to simply fit either side system.
more specialist cars or low volume tend to try and fit single market or even use just a single blade centred on screen so can wipe either way.
- I'm trying to decide which bike to get between a 2007 gsxr600 or 2006 CBR600? I've been riding a ninja 250 for about 6 months now and am selling it in the next week or so to get a bigger bike. Both of these bikes are from private owners. The gsxr has 17k miles vs the honda having 25k. Both bikes are well taken care of. But i can't really decide on which to get. Any opinions would be helpfull
- YOU SAY DOES THE REAR WINDSHIELD OF THE 2008 HONDA CIVIC COUPE, WHICH IS A CAR, NEED THE SNOW TO BE REMOVED FROM THE REAR WI? NDSHIELD IN ORDER TO BE LEGALLY OPERATED, OR PARKED IN NEW YORK CITY OR NASSAU COUNTY, WHICH IS IN NEW YORK STATE!
- Why don't my windshield wipers work on high speed? I have a 92 Honda Civic Si and i'm having a problem with my front wipers, sometimes they work, sometimes they get stuck and sometimes they don't work at all. They only move when i turn the off button. I changed the motor and its doing the same thing. Could it be the linkage?
- My '98 Honda Civic windshield wipers won't stop? They will not stop when I put them into the off position. How ever if I put the switch into INT and find a spot it will stop. I guess my question is do I need to replace my windshield wiper motor, or the switch?
