How do I get my hood open when the hood latch lever broke off? 2005 Honda Civic. Vise grips are not working?
If you can grip the cable end and pull it should work. Have someone else jostle the hood as you yank. There must be some reason why the lever broke off. Only suggestion is see if you can reach up under the hood.
If all else fails, you'll need to remove the Grille to access Latch. That means destroying it on most cars. But most are not very expensive online.
Replace the lever. There should be plenty of them at the salvage yard.
- Trunk door latch loose and wobbly, door won't shut? I'm not even really sure what is holding the latch in if there are no screws there? Bough an 03 Honda pilot ex today. Anybody know what kind of screws go in there or whether I can just go to a mechanic or have to go to a dealer? I bought it from a private party

- My 2010 honda civic's armrest is broken. It's not the latch that locks the armrest, but it's the hinge that makes it go up and down? The entire back hinge of the armrest broke off so now the back of it is exposed which is a safety hazard and just looks terrible. I want to get it fixed, but I have no idea if it can be fixed or where to take it. If anyone could give me any ideas on what kind of shop could fix this for me that would be great. I feel like I'm a burden being a girl who calls around town all of the time trying to get car issues fixed because I don't know exactly who specializes in these things.
