How long does it take to drive stick In a car? (short and simple)?

I live in Cali and i just turned 18, i never learned to drive because i was never interested in a car, but now that i'm 18 i feel like a total loser waiting for the bus. My family has a car waiting for me, but its stick shift and a honda civic. Good condition and everything but i have never driven a car let alone a manual transmission car. I've only test drove a car twice and it was automatic. I really want to have my license by the beginning or mid November. Will i need more time or nah? I've read the manual but that isn't going to help with the actual car.

I would suggest getting used to the clutch first (they are pricy to replace!) My dad taught me (in a vacant lot) to slowly let it out until it began to creep forward, WITHOUT touching the gas! Just get a feel of how sensitive yours is. When you get used to that, you can start pushing the throttle at that moment it starts to creep. Practice in a lot first, don't endanger yourself or others!

  • What is the the difference between a resin tank long and a resin tank short? For a 2001 honda passport? What is the the difference between a resin tank long and a resin tank short? For a 2001 honda passport 2wd? What are the measurements for each thank you
  • Simple repairs to make car fast again? 1986 Honda prelude, carbourated, 5 speed. My friend had it a while ago and he said it was very fast when he originally had it, about a year ago. When I drive it it seems to have very little power, it accelerates really really slow. I was wondering if there's any simple repairs I can do to make it a little faster besides a tune up?
  • Is maintenance for a Honda XR650L easy and simple? I ask because I want to buy one for a daily user. Is maintenance the same like a regular motorcycle? Example: More/less frequent oil changes. I wanted the L because c mon, That back hasn't changed mechanically speaking since 92 so you know that s solid engineering. I've owned and still ride an 88 route 66 for 3 years, done my regular oil change 3000miles, lube job, etc. So would it be the same? More work, less work. How s it looking?
  • How long does it take for a mechanic to finish my dirtbike? About 3 weeks ago I brought my dirtbike to a Honda shop to get repaired. I payed 900 to get the clutche adjusted, valve replaced, oil change, breaks change, a full time up, and pretty much everything to make the dirtbike pretty much "brand new". It's been 3 weeks since it's been in the shop going on 4, and I'm starting to get VERY impatient. I'm just wondering how long it takes to do all of this?
