How much hp would a cold air intake add to a 2012 honda civic?
1.5 liter engine
140 hp
A few, far less than 15 is my guess.
As compared to the cold air intake installed by the factory? 0 to 2
A 2012 Honda Civic comes stock with a cold air intake. The best thing to do is modify it a little to make it a forced air intake- meaning direct some air into the air inlet up-stream the air box from under the bumper.
Aftermarket CAI's are eye candy and nothing more.
It won't. Look where the intake is already… Yep at the front of the car.
Zero… Your car came with a perfectly good CAI from the factory. It's just plastic instead of shiny chrome and has a convenient throw away air filter.
The oil mist on cleanable air filters migrates to the MAF sensor wires and ruins expensive MAF sensors.
The only horsepower increase you'll feel is to install a cat-back exhaust system which increases the power by an average 25 horses.
- What will adding a cold air intake filter do to my 1997 corolla? Do these things add mpg? Hp? I don't plan on ricing it out I was just wondering. I sometimes see old hondas and toyotas and they have these along with a ridiculous body kits lol.
- Is the AEM V2 cold air intake worth it for my 97 honda prelude? So i'm thinking of buying a cold air intake and i've heard the v2 is a really good one. Is it worth the money? How much and what would i gain from it? Just basically need to know details and all that stuff. Thankz a lot guys
- I have a 2015 Honda rancher that had a crack in the air box. It got so much dirt through the air filter it got into my piston. So it now Burns oil and I was wonder will it ever stop smoking. I know I have to rebuild the engin so don't even say it. And how long will it take before it losses power.
- How to build a cold air intake? My buddy built one for his little Honda, I was curious if I can build one for a trail blazer and what all that intels
