How much is my used car worth?

I have a 2004 Honda civic ex v tec that i'm trying to sell as is. However it does have some issues but i'm not sure how much its exactly worth. The right side passenger and back seat doors have to be locked manually(by hand) it has been in a accident before as well. When ever i drive at night sometimes the headlights flicker i don't know if its an electrical problem or not it does not happen all the time. It has 239,000 miles on it. One of the rims is mismatched. The check engine light is on too but its a sensor i got the code read at auto zone so its a minor issue. It comes with a sound system and tinted windows. The tags expire next month. Not sure how much its worth so does anyone have any ideas?

Use one of the websites yourself.

If you look on craigslist for similar vehicles you will get an idea of what to sell your for BUT! In most States, the check engine light can't be lit + the vehicle may have to pass a current emissions inspection… The addition of a radio or tint will not increase the value and you will need to be honest w/any buyer about the accident… Best guess - $ 500

Not much

$650

Car is a beater. Offer $800, sell for $500.

A 14 year old car with almost 240,000 that has repair issues is worth about $500.

If you fixed it up you can maybe get like $1500 for it.

It's worth whatever a buyer is willing to pay you for it… Not a penny more.

BTW, where I live, vehicles must pass an emissions test when the vehicle is sold and having the CEL ( Check Engine Light ) on means that it would be an automatic fail and wouldn't be road legal for the new owner. I have no idea of what the laws are like where you live but if you tried to sell that car where I live, you would have a tough time finding a buyer, even if it was priced below market value.

You really didn't need to mention the tinted glass and whoomp-whoomp box. Everyone knew that when you said Honda Civic.

Your car is a beater, buddy. It's worth about $300 at any scrap yard, and anything more you get for it is a blessing. A vehicle is worth exactly what the highest bidder is willing to pay, but don't expect anything over three figures for it.

If you have the time and storage space, you can make a lot more selling it part by part.

  • Is buying a used Toyota, Honda or Mazda car over 100,500 mileage worth it? Or is it too risky? I don't want to buy a car that will die as soon as I get it. I want it too last a while.
  • Is it worth buying a used Chevy Volt with over 100K miles on it? The price is right, but is it worth it? I know I would have to install a power charging station which is an additional 1000 dollars. There's one for sale at 14,500 dollars… But most used Volts are around 23,000 dollars. My other two considerations are a new 2015 Honda Fit or a used Mark 6 VW Golf TDI I've seen people on youtube who average 120 mpg with the volt! One guy's was even 1000 mpg, I don't think he even brought it to the gas station since he bought the car!
  • When buying a used car, briefly how much money is negotiated? I'm looking for a used car, and was wondering how much money is okay to be negotiated. Right now I'm looking at a clean status 2017 honda civic (50,000km)and the listed price is 21000 after tax. How much should I be able to negotiate down to? I don't want to low ball the price. I'm in Vancouver, Canada by the way
  • I bought a used car from the dealer 2008 honda civic si, did i pay to much? I paid 16k and opted for 220 a month payments. the car has 35000 miles on it. Its standard, with navigational system, sunroof, power window. I'm asking becaue i have people telling me its worth way less. Nada blue book seems to think so but kelly blue book says 16,700 the high mark.
