How much should it cost to replace a front-right engine mount in a 2012 Honda Civic? I recently had a rough idle diagnosed and it came back to a collapsing (not yet collapsed) front-right engine mount.

Quote was $350 for parts and labor.

$350 might be as much as a Honda dealership would charge, yes. However, you can easily find a reputable local independent automotive center that will likely do the job for well under $300.

Before you go spending that money, get two more opinions please. I can't fathom a motor or transmission mount going out on a car that new.

Under $50 for the part and around a hundred labor.

Should take you an hour.

The front mount I believe is easy. I would get more quotes. I recently had a harmonic balancer replaced. First quote $500. Second quote $300. I took the lowest quote & they did a fast great job. Some local independent shop.
