How much should it cost to replace a serpentine belt on a 2000 honda civic?

How much should it cost to replace a serpentine belt on a 2000 honda civic?

Between $50-75.

The average cost for a Honda Civic serpentine belt replacement is between $57 and $147. If you bought the Haynes manual you could DIY for the cost of the belt. Or watch the video.

$50 for the part and 2 hours labor.

If it's only got one drive belt they run up to $50 and expect an hour labor.

The belt is cheap but it needs a few hours to fit. In these models, don't quote me, the belt is right up against the left-hand chassis bearer so the motor has to be dropped a little to get clearance. It's not difficult, just adds time ($$) to the job. I reckon a couple of hours.

Most shops one hour labor which varies between shops. So call a couple and ask

Buy the belt. Bando, Mitsuboshi or Gates only. If you have a metric socket and a breaker bar, you can remove and install it yourself.

About a hundred bucks.

Nothing because it is a do-it-yourself fix. If you pay someone to do it figure on about $30-50 for the labor alone (not the belt)

About $25 for the part and a half our to do the work YOURSELF! They are SIMPLE to do and GOOD learning experience for ANYONE! Egven OIL CHANGE centers can do thisk, but WHY PAY THEM when YOU can DIY?

  • How much does it cost to replace the timing belt on a 2004 Honda Element? I'm looking to buy my first car and I'm looking at a Used Honda Element. The only thing I'm concerned about it that the car has a lot of miles (200,000) and the timing belt hasn't been replaced. Generally, how much would that cost?
  • Honda replaced my serpentine belt but my car is now taking longer to crank? Honda recently replaced my serpentine belt (2012 Honda Civic, 185k miles). I noticed that on cold starts, the car takes longer to crank and then eventually starts. Sounds like it doesn't want to start but then does. I will take it to Honda but I'm just curious what this is likely caused by? Loose belt? Tight belt? Pulley issue? No noticeable squealing, just the crank time. Instead of the usual 1-3 seconds, now my car takes about 3-5.

  • How soon might a squeaky serpentine belt finally break? It's not a really bad squeaking, been going on for a month or two. Can't afford repairs now. How will I know if and when it does break? It's a 2000 Honda Accord with 130K miles if that matters.
