How soon for a tune up?
So i bought a 2013 Honda Civic in 2017 it had about 20,000 miles it's now at about 61,000-63,000 is it time for a tune up? And how often should i get one?
Well, they say that you're supposed to get an oil change every 5000 miles so if you haven't done that, definitely do that and see if it needs to be tuned up in other areas as well. Don't let any place Get over on you though.
What exactly is a tune up? It should of been serviced and safety checked a couple of times for the 40k miles you have driven it. Have a read of the book in the glovebox
Read your owners manual. It has a maintenance schedule in it. Don't let the dealer talk you into anything not listed in the manual.
READ the owner's manual that came with the car. It will have a list of maintenance procedures that should be done at certain times or miles. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for scheduled service and your car will last longer.
No owner's manual? BUY ONE and THEN read it!
Service your Honda at least once a year, but preferably twice. The "official" intervals and work required are stated in your owner's handbook.
Have it serviced once a year, that's all that needs doing.
I'd replace the spark plugs every 60,000 miles if they are Platinum spark plugs.
You need the valves adjusted every 60,000 miles anyway due to the fact all motors made by Honda have a common issue with the valves getting tight.
Put NGK or Denso Iridium spark plugs in if you want to change them at 90,000 mile intervals.
Didn't your car come with an Owner's Manual? The recommended maintenance schedule is in that manual.
Usually they have platinum or iridium plugs which are good for 100,000 miles. You can do it now using either plat or iridium and be good for 100k.
- When is a Tune Up due on newer cars? I have a 3 year old Honda but it doesn't say when tune up should be performed. Just says to do it when the maintenance minder comes but it hasn't come on even after 70,000 miles!
- Is it possible to tune a Chrysler Sebring 2007? This question might be silly or unprofessional, but is it possible or would you recommend me in tuning my Chrysler Sebring 2007 2.4L V4. The tuning program that i would be using is Jet 68024 from 2.0 to above engine size and is compatible with my vehicle. If you wouldnt recommend it then why not, hondas are being tuned and programmed, gets nitros added and their engines are smaller than mine. Please let me know
