How to reattach my rear view mirror in my 2005 Honda civic?
My boyfriend accidently hit my rear view mirror and knocked it off.
It doesn't appear to have any glue that held it in. There's a screw on the back of the mirror and a slot where it looks like it should go but it won't pop back in. Is there something special I have to do?
The question is is there a piece of metal still on the windshield? If not loosen the screw and remove it from the mirror. Use super glue and tape it back on the windshield for a few hours, follow the instructions on the glue. If the piece is still on the windshield loosen the screw and slid it over the metal and tighten the screw.
If your boyfriend knocked off the mirror off the windshield, there's a good chance that the metal mounting piece (Plate) is still intact and came off with the mirror assembly.
All you have to do is to remove the plate off the mirror, clean it up and go to Auto Zone or your local auto part store to buy the adhesive to re- attach the plate back to the windshield:

I need to drive the car but won't until I can get a mirror.
