I drive my 2012 Civic Si Coupe kinda hard?

I usually rip it once or twice, or even more a day, sometimes i go past 5000-6000 rpm (8000 redline). Sometimes i jerk shift, sometimes i put too much gas when shifting so i kinda slightly burn the clutch, and i downshift poorly. How long will the car last or certain parts (ex. Engine, clutch, tranny)?

Its a Honda which helps but I'm sure i'm sucking the life out it faster then i should be

Also are Hondas meant to be revved? Because of the vtec technology? I've heard this from a couple people.

thanks

Added (1). i sometimes downshift poorly, not all the time, sometimes ill let off the clutch too fast, and ill jerk the car a little

Added (2). BTW, would warranty replace any of these things if something goes horribly wrong from driving hard, because i have warranty on powertrain, engine, etc for like 4 years.

The clutch and gearbox is what you are abusing. The engine is designed to run at those revs. If it wasn't, Honda would have moved the redline down lower.

Yes, Hondas are high revving engines. VTEC or no anything under the Redline will not hurt the engine. Provided you have good oil and oil pressure. If you shift really hard you can bend a shift fork. Not Good. Don't downshift unless you need to… USE THE BRAKES. If you can't time the shift and gas slow down the process. Replacing your clutch and surfacing your flywheel is in your future if you don't change your driving habits. And if you keep slamming the shifter… A new transmission.

The only question you didn't ask was if you are stupid. I could have answered that one.

  • Is it hard to drive a Honda CB110 Motorcycle? Never owned a motorcycle, driven one, a scooter called Mio, it was automatic so it was just like riding a bike. Do you think i can handle a Manual? I'm a tall 18 year old guy with a good body (if that has anything to do with it)
  • Dirtbike engine making a clanking kinda sound? Its a honda crf100f, when, i start it, its fine, but when I go to rev it, and the rpms get higher, there's a metal sound in there, not really sure how to describe it, like a really fast vibration sorta, but its metal on metal, could low oil cause that? I haven't done an, oil change for 6 mobths but the oil is still clean in it and I forgot what kind of oil it took.
