I got a new exedy stage one racing clutch for my stock 2014 honda civic si?

I bought a exedy stage 1 racing clutch for my stock honda civic si and apparently the place I got it fixed at told me it broke the car and I know you have to get a ecu flash when you get a new clutch but he said even without the flash it should turn the car on but it wouldn t start and caused the release fork in the car to break is this true or did i have to flash the factory settings to fix the issue?

Stupid to put a racing clutch in a stock car. The clutch pressure plate springs are much stronger, so yes, it could have broken the stock release fork.

There's no computer reflash for when a clutch id replaced.
It's not too smart to put such a heavy duty pressure plate in you car. Besides wearing your foot out in traffic with the extra pressure on the hydraulic system it can also cause "crank walk" and ruin the thrust bearings on the crankshaft.
It shouldn't keep the vehicle from starting. The clutch safety switch on the clutch pedal should make contact for the starter to work even if the clutch plate causes trouble with the shift fork.
Now you need to speak with the mechanic to see why the starter is not working.
