I hit my brakes really hard, ended up having underside scratches on the front bumper - left side. Should i be worried about something else?

I drive a honda civic 2018 EX… I have taken care of it ever since i got it in january… No problems. I park far away from cars. And it honestly breaks my heart that now i have underside scratches on my car. Its just not a good feeling…
here is the story: yesterday i was driving traffic, the car infront of me made a sudden halt… I hit my brakes super hard because i did not want to hit the car… I can accept some of the blame because i should have had more distance… But when i hit my breaks, i could feel something really loud underneath… Excuse me if i don't know the appropriate terms for car particles. So when i heard that scrape noise my heart sank
anyway, there's only scratches on the left underside of my front bumper but nowhere else… Why would that be? Should i be worried about anything else? What else could have been scraped? My engine? Did someone modify my car suspension? Only had one oil change so far…
anyway i'm paranoid… I told my father - he laughed at me and said i'm worried about nothing… Its not funny to me
should i file a report? Should i go back to my dealership and ask them to check it out?
after my oil change i did have a low pressure tire light that came on - i got that fixed… I don't know what to basically… Please help me out.

You wrote "I can accept some of the blame". Wrong! You get ALL the blame. You should drive more defensively. There are no guarantees that another driver won't stop hard in front of you. You didn't leave enough room and / or you were driving distracted and your reaction was too slow. Either way,. EPIC FAIL.

You wrote " only had one oil change so far". IRRELEVANT

You wrote "when I hit my breaks". FAIL. It's spelled brakes.

You wrote "i don't know the appropriate terms for car particles". FAIL. They're parts, not particles.

You asked " did someone modify my car suspension?" NO! Not if you purchased it new Einstein.

You said " i could feel something really loud underneath". Well, first of all, one does't feel things that are really loud, they hear them. Did you hear your tires squealing on the pavement, or something else?

What exactly did you feel? Did you actually hit something? If you actually hit the other vehicle, you are required to make an insurance report. If you didn't hit the other vehicle, there's no way your bumper could have hit the pavement instead. How do you know those scrapes weren't put there when you carelessly parked nose-in to a high curb some other time?

Sorry kid, but you haven't given any useful information and you're probably freaking out about mere scratches. FAIL.

You can brake hard till the cows come home. But not once will your underside of bumper hit the ground… Impossible… But you can easily make scratches on underside of bumper. When you park. Most car parks have a kerb

  • New alternator doesn't fit or it really hard to get in to the bracket, what should I do? I have a Honda Passport 1998, and I replace the alternator for it. I did check the new one and the old one, they are just the same. The problem is when I install new one, it hard to get in to the bracket even I try to wiggle and hammer it by wooden block. Should I grind the new alternator? Or is there any good solution for it?
  • What else can I do about this hit and run to my car in costa mesa, California area 8-22-14? I've put $500 reward all over craigslist and facebook looking for a white Mercedes c250/c350 sport coupe pano roof that "hit and run" my parked Honda civic on the eve. Of 8-22-14 by south coast plaza area costa mesa, California. I've been including a picture of a white Mercedes c250/c350 crashed up in the front on facebook and craigslist postings. • Should I be worried about my car? Hi, i drive a honda civic 2000 hatchback, and i'm starting to notice that when ever i close the door the car shakes. Another thing is i can shake the car with just one hand with barely any force. Is this something i should worry about? All tires are 2 months old, just did an alignment like 2 months ago. Does every car shakes? Or eventually shakes?
  • Is bumper to bumper warranty on a 2012 car worth it? For $2000? I don't think a 2012 Honda Civic LX would have any problems right? I'm only gonna keep it for one year probably… Let me know thanks!
