I live in San Francisco and I'm taking my 1999 Honda Civic for a Los Angeles trip. Is this a good idea?
I've taken my car to La twice and no problems whatsoever! My car hasn't had any serious problems. The only thing wrong that mechanics have noticed was a tiny crack on my alternator belt. But it has never caused any problems. My parents are trying to convince me not to take it since it's old and some other things about the mileage. I'm getting an oil change soon and I'm going to put air into my tired before the trip. Will I be ok taking my 1999 Honda Civic again for a 7 hour drive? If so, any tips?
I don't know much about cars but i remember being warned about the alternator belt. If it snaps while driving there's a good chance it will cause some serious damage and your car won't start even if you jump start it. I've also been told it's cheap to replace. So?
The best and safest thing to do w/an older vehicle like that is to have a reliable mechanic do a complete inspection… Better safe than sorry
Just check all the fluid levels and join the AAA then you need not worry.

There are no strange weaknesses that attack Cars of a Certain Age on longish trips. My car is barely newer than yours and I'd expect no problems driving it to L.A. -- from Kansas.
- Taking out Dirtbike Baffles, GOOD OR BAD? So I recently bought a 2006 Honda CRF230F, I love the bike to bits, the one thing I would like is for it too be louder, If I take the baffle out, will it have any long term damage or will I loose power etc? What are the Pros, and Cons?

I have a 99 I'm in need of a new front bumber and I'm looking on Craigslist and a found a 2000 civic front bumper that's dope and it's cheap so I'm asking if it would fit perfect or what adjustments would I have to make is it worth it pretty much thanks

- Is the Honda Civic a good car to live in? I plan on travelling across America in my Honda Civic. I plan on sleeping in it and basically living out of it for a year. Do you think this is possible in such a compact car? I want to keep it cause it gets great gas mileage.
