There's no reason to buy a Focus over a Civic. The Civic is superior in reliability and overall quality compared to the Ford.

My relatives claim that their Ford Focus is a great car. You may have a hard time finding a Focus with a manual transmission but I would recommend the manual transmission over the automatic transmission. Ford has had a lot of issues with the automatic transmissions in their smaller cars. Honda Civics are very good cars but my brother and sister had major problems with the brakes in their Hondas right after the warranty expired.
Boy the Ford if you have plenty of extra money to pay for repairs. Hondas are significantly more reliable than pretty much anything Ford makes, and Focuses are very unreliable.
I have no idea why you would do that. BTW, Manuel is a Mexican guy.

- Honda owners: is there a difference in top speed between 4 speed and 5 speed element? My car is an 03 auto awd ex. I'm just curious, what top speed before drag effect comes into Affect? Can it achieve over 100 mph? I've heard that it can do 1-10 but I'm not sure whether that's for the 5 speed or the automatic bc the extra gear makes a difference in my opinion.

- Can I swap stereos between a '98 Honda Accord and an '01 Ford Focus? I have a stereo for a 1998 Honda accord that I no longer use. Would it fit in a 2001 ford focus that has no stereo? A fit guide says the Honda takes a Corporate Panel size, and the Ford takes a Corporate Double Din. Both have an 8" depth. Is the stereo completely incompatible; or will the issue be merely cosmetic?
