If I remove my resonator will it affect my car's performance?
I have a 2009 Honda civic si, and I put a 2 3/4 inch pipe starting from the catalytic converter all the way to the muffler so the resonator got removed, will it only affect the sound or did my car loose horse power or does it affect the performance in any kind of way?
Probably will just hurt performance a bit.
Why did you hack up your exhaust?
Dnsu
It didn't have that much power to start with.
I don't believe it will affect the performance all that much. The back pressure loss would be minimal.
Yes it will drastically affect the performance.
A work colleague had his removed temporarily while waiting for a replacement. He said the car was terrible to drive.
Honda have very cleaver people. Leave it alone.
- Will the ecm affect my smog test? I think my ecm is bad in my 96 Honda civic ex 5speed. Can I change the ecm? Do I need to find the exact matching ecm or can I use a different year ecm? Will it affect my smog test. I don't wanna buy a brand new one so I'm thinking of buying a used one from people parting cars or a parts shop. It's hard to find exact match that's why I want to know if it matters also I gotta smog test pretty soon.
- If I get a turbo for my car, will it affect my fuel economy? I'm thinking about getting a Honda Civic si and in time I was thinking about putting a turbo kit in it just to have more fun but how would it affect my gas mileage?
- Does torque affect 0-60 time in equal weight cars? I'm looking at a Chevrolet cobalt ss supercharged that makes 205 horsepower and 200 lb/ft and it weighs 3000 pounds. Would it be faster than my friends Honda Civic Si which makes 200 horsepower and 140 lb/ft of torque and weighs 2900 pounds? What exactly does torque do? People have told me it's low end power.
- Can I upgrade hybrid car performance w/ losing hybrid properties? I have a 2005 Honda civic hybrid. Can I customize parts components electronics everything. And still have hybrid mileage? I'm thinking maybe if the weight the same or less then factory install. It shouldn't be a problem? I'm a car rookie. Don't know much. But I'm learning.
