Is 86,000 miles a lot for a 2009 Honda Civic LX Sedan?

I got a approved for a $12,000 car loan and I wanted to get a 2009 honda civic LX sedan with 86k miles for $11,890. Is that too many miles?

Hell no that's a Honda that car is pretty much new lol

Too many miles? Not a all. Honda make some of the best long lasting and durable engines in the business. If properly maintained they can easily last 300k miles or more. If the Honda you are looking at has all of it's service and maintenance records it will be a very safe purchase.

Are you kidding me? Haha that engine is pretty much new. It's safe to say that if you buy an engine with 150K from honda is bearly getting started. But yea that is a good car and it isn't many miles for that Honda and the year is still good

First off, normal people using any vehicle to and from normal working distant would put about 15K miles/year. Secondly, depend on who you buy the vehicle from: Private, CPO or dealer: The price vary and the car condition would be the factors. I would not pay more than $9000 for the car in good condition. You're the one who knows about the car so use KBB to have an idea what the selling price range should be:

Good luck in making decision of buying. E mail if you need help in the future or in repairing advises. HTH

Considering that honda's will go to 300,000 miles when properly maintained, i would say don't be scared off by the miles.

as far as the price
Kelly blue book has this car priced at $9,500 for private party sale, dealers do bump the price up a bit.
so the price could be better considering that once a car passed 85,000 miles it is considered "high mileage"

If mine has 147.000 and its 2001 and it has more than it should, cars should only make 10.000 every year

  • Would you purchase a 2004 Honda pilot for $6,000.000 that has 216,000 miles on it? I'm just browsing online looking at cars for sale and a lot of them have 200k or more miles on them and they want $4,000 or more. Why do people sale their cars for such a high price with a lot of miles on them? Its not just Hondas its all types of cars private and dealers as well
