Is a 1967 mustang coupe reliable?

So, I'm 19 and in the military. Been in the Navy for about a year now, and I will be going overseas to Italy. Looking to get a reliable car that is not so expensive, I found a 1967 mustang coupe for 11250. Looks in good shape, I'm planning to use this as an everyday car. Now on pretty much all military bases we have mechanics. So if problems occur mechanics will not be an issue. But I want to know just how reliable a classic car really is. I love classic muscle cars way more than current ones. They are a love of mine and i can't get over there beauty and the sound of these muscle cars. So how reliable are they? Anyone who has owned a classic car care to share some experiences? Thank you!

Added (1). i will also be getting a 3rd party auto appraisal if that changes anything. I also have owned a 2004 Honda civic as my first car, and it was a complete pain. Constantly having issues as well. Just want to make sure i won't be investing a fortune into this mustang. Also plan on making this car my first project too.

Very few cars are reliable when they are 40 years old, lol. First off early Mustangs while they look great, where cheaply made, but expect to drop $20 - 30 K to restore a 40 year old car to be a daily driver, or maybe ever more.

Love classic muscle all you want, that don't make 40 year old rust buckets more reliable. If you desire reliable then go buy a Mustang made this decade, sorry.

A 50 year old car is gona have problems. And for 11k id guess that cars not good

Hate to be a wet blanket, but an almost 50 year old car is NOT going to be a reliable daily driver.
Seriously your old Honda is a more reliable car, even with the issues it has.

You buy a car like that as a "project", and keep something else as a daily driver for when the project car is being worked on (which will be pretty regularly)

The good news is they are not complicated, and so are relatively simple to repair. This is good because you will be doing it pretty often.

Nothing that old is going to be reliable unless you want to spend a lot of time & money babying it.

Hi classic it might be reliable no.

  • Would it be stupid to get a 2005 mustang? It has 70-90k miles, i can't remember the exact number. I'm 20 years old and it would be my first car if that sways your decision in any way. I have a 7-7.5k budget I have been looking at toyotas and hondas, but i hate the way most of them look. I figured not everyone likes their first car; it just needs to be practical. Buying my first car is a big decision, to me, and i'm torn
  • Insurance cost on a 6 cylinder 2015 mustang? My parents are willing to help me buy a new car and I really want the 5.0 but The insurance would probably be more than the monthly payments for the car itself. I'm 17 btw I don't want to hear( Get a used car, Buy a honda, Etc) I don't want anything else So Please don't answer with anything else other than what my question pertains to please Would it be cheaper if I got the eco boost 4 cyclinder It the V6? Any input would be great thanks!
  • Thinking of buying a 2019 honda civic coupe but i'm worried how reliable the cvt transmission is? I want to buy a basic honda civic coupe. I want the 2 door because i think it looks cute. But i'm worried how relaible is that cvt transmssion? I want to last atleast 150k miles?
  • 2015 Mustang V6 or 2013 Mustang GT? All spoiled rich kid comments aside, I have been saving money for 2 years and it is time for me to get a new car. Just taking a public survey, but should I get a 2015 Mustang V6, or a 2013 Mustang GT? Both cars are right in my price range. I'm driving a honda civic now so either car will be a dramatic increase power for me. The 2015 styling is awesome, but the 2013 still looks good and i would have the intense power of a V8! I need help deciding!
