Is a 465$ a lot for a car payment + insurance?
I'm looking into the 2014 Honda civic Si and this is around what I would pay. If I'm 21 and working at least 40 hours a week will I be able to pay it off? I make about 12.75 an hour
That is a very large car payment for your pay. It doesn't leave any money for anything else, like moving out of your parent's house.
It is really nice to have a new car, but you should live within your means. Look for a good used car with a much lower payment, or even better, save up your money and buy a used car for cash. Then your insurance payments will be much lower too.
I think 465$ would be enough for a car payment and insurance… Because now a days the vehicles have been increasing and from this money simple one car can be purchased… And insurance
Depends of the car
Tbh, your an idiot but yes thats a really good deal. Depending on where you live…
This is why high school math is important, although you might not have thought so at the time.
If you work 40 hours a week and make $12.75 an hour, you make $510/week, or about $2040/month, minus tax and Social Security deductions. Then you subtract any expenses you have each month, such as rent and food. Do that math and if it's more than $465 a month, you can afford the car.
- What is your monthly car payment? Just wondering. I'm planning on purchasing a used 2010 and beyond Toyota, Nissan, or Honda car of any brand, by affordability. What should I expect to be my monthly payment if I found a car between 10k and 20k?
- Car insurance compared to small truck insurance? I have a Honda Fit right now, but am interested in buying a new small four-wheel drive truck. How do insurance rates generally compare (in Ontario) between a subcompact car and a small truck?

- Buying my first car and want to choose the right car I need something with a lot of room and thats safe? I've been looking at the honda crv, kia sorento, chevy traverse/equinox, acura mdx/rdx, nissan maxima and buick enclave. I really want something thats going to last atleast (6-8) years without having to replace the transmission or engine I want something very reliable and i'm willing to pay more for something that will last than having to replace major parts in a short time thanks for your help!
