Is bumper to bumper warranty on a 2012 car worth it?
For $2000?
I don't think a 2012 Honda Civic LX would have any problems right? I'm only gonna keep it for one year probably…
Let me know thanks!
Not worth it… A Honda is one of the best… Very reliable
Not if you're only going to keep it a year.
Bumper-to-bumper warranties are rarely that… Read the fine print.
But, as already pointed out, if you only intend to keep the car for one year, it's not worth it. The only exception would be if the warranty is transferable in which case you could use it as a selling feature when you sell. But while it may help sell your vehicle, you won't get your money back from it.
- Would a Lifetime Warranty influence your car buying decision? I'm debating between a 2017 Honda Pilot and 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe. Pilot costs $28K but comes with a Lifetime Powertrain Warranty (several Honda dealers offer this) while Santa Fe costs $25K but just 10year/100k miles warranty. So do you think its worth paying $3k more for a Pilot especially since it comes with a Lifetime Warranty? I mean the warranty probably is worth $3k alone?
- What would be a better car a 2012 Honda Civic or a 2012 KIA Soul? I'm going to buy one of those cars and I want to know the best things about them both. What do you guys recommend.
- What happens if the damage on my car, is worth more than the car itself? I got in a car accident a while ago… I have a 92 Honda civic, which is worth about $2000. The accident wasn't my fault since I got hit from behind. The person who hit me… Her insurance told me that the damage might be worth more than the car when they came to appraise the damage, and that if that's the case… They would have to consider it totaled or something like that. What's supposed to happen? What are they going to do?
- Any tips or tricks to get the dealership to throw in a warranty when buying a used car? Buying a Honda Element with 150k miles. Any way to get them to throw in a 6 month warranty or something? They are asking retail for the vehicle.
