If you are lucky it could just be the clutch. Find a local shop that does good work. What is happening is the clutch material is worn out so when you engauge the clutch there isn't material left. The clutch disk is spinning trying to grab the fly wheel and its metal on metal. That's why it is slipping when you hit the gas.
- Transmission going out on friend's 2004 Impala. Is it possible to install a manual transmission taken from a 1992 Honda Civic in this car? Not worth replacing trans on a car this old, but the engine and everything else are still perfect. My friend was able to get a free manual trans from a 1992 Honda Civic. But i'm not sure whether or not you can use a trans from a different vehicle
- Why is my 2006 honda civic manual transmission going into gear revving up high and moving forward slowly? I'm not sure if my parking brake is stuck or not. It moves in reverse just fine. When i put it into first gear its moving forward very slowly even when i push the gas down all the way.
- Can you put a 7 speed manual transmission in a car that comes stock with a 4 or 5 speed manual transmission? I'm just curious to know if this is possible or if anyone has tried it. I wany to know what is possible to get the most out of a car. I'm probably going to be getting an acura(no hondas) and doing the necessary upgrades, turbo and all that. If anyone has any experience let me know
- CAN I DRIVE WITH A BLOWN OUT TRANSMISSION? I have a 98 honda prelude automatic, brand new transmission and engine. This morning the D4 light started flashing, check engine light came on, and the speedometer kept spinning (I was on the freeway). When I start to drive it jumps a little. Do I have to get a new transmission or can it be fixed without replacing it? How much would it cost? & can I still drive the car?
