I just got a letter on the mail stated that I may have won one of the following New 2014 Honda Civic LX, 1,000 Cash or Target Gift Card up to $500 dollars. It stated that if my number matches, I'm a guaranteed winner. My number matched, so is this real?
I'm sure it is. "you may have won one of the following", you also may have won something a lot less valuable, like a small % of a purchase that you had no interest in buying in the first place.

The Target Gift Card is likely for a very small amount. This is probably some sort of car dealership, right? It's a promotional ploy - just a way to get you in the door. They know if they get 100 people to walk through the door, and give each of those people a 5-dollar gift card for trying a car, probably 5 of them will end up buying a car. It's worth it to them.
EVERYONE who receives this mailing has matched the numbers. EVERYONE has "won" the Target Gift Card. If you think it's worth going in to the store to collect a small gift card, then go for it. Worst case scenario is you get talked into buying something that you can't afford.
