Is this car supposed to sound this way? Its a turbo civic del sol 1995 for sale on Craigslist in NC. The motor seems to have a tick?
I'm looking at a 95 civic del sol turbocharged for sale for only $3500 seems like a really good deal except in the video the motor seems to be ticking at idle its very loud and I texted the guy about it he said that its normal because its a built motor with lowered compression. Anyone know about built Hondas can verify is this true? Here is the craigslist ad and the youtube video of it (which is also linked in the ad)

Sounds like my Dodge diesel. 60k on the engine, I'll bet he drove the **** out of it. Besides that engine noise, could be a rod bearing, the clutch is probably worn, needs suspension parts and on and on. I would run, not walk, away from that money pit.
Sounds like rod knock. Lowered compression will not sound like that.

- Honda civic del sol won't rev past 4k on highway? I put a brand new distributor on my del sol. It solved the jumping rpm neddle and temp guage. But it still will not go over 4k rpm on highway. It just has no power after that. @ 4k, my engine isn't even screaming or trying to rev higher, it just sits there. So my car tops out @ 85 to 90 mph. I used to could hit 115 with no peoblem. Any suggestions?
