Manuel Car totally scared to drive it

My parents bought me an 09 honda civic but its manuel I love the car its wonderful and I'm grateful but I tried driving it and of course i did terrible but now i'm literally afraid to drive it on the main road because I'm afraid of stulling out, I'm also afraid of going at a red light and then someone ramming into me if i stall out, do any of you who drive manual love it? Have any of you had bad experiences?

Find an empty parking lot and practice starting and stopping.
you will the hang of it in less than 2 hours

Everyone loves manual transmission once they get used to it.
You have to go to an empty parking lot and just practice the clutch until it is no longer with any thought.
Does not take long. Experience the extremes of stalling out at too low of rpm, and of smoking the clutch at too high of rpm. Get the feel of the pedal. It does not take long. Only then add traffic. And watch the tachometer.

Get someone who's used to driving manual to help you out. Drive it around on a parking lot with them for a while, you'll get the hang of it.

I only ever want to drive manuals, automatic just doesn't seem right

I started driving a vehicle with a manual transmission when I was 5 years old. I would have to slide out of the seat to operate the clutch and then climb back into the seat to see where I was going. I mostly drive automatics anymore, but it is nice to have complete control of what gear a vehicle is operating in.

Get some proper driving lessons on a manual. It is a lot cheaper than a new transmission.
Here in Europe we have a different test and license for a manual.

  • Which car should I own/drive in the university? So its my first year in the university and my father said that he will buy a new cheap car for me or I can wait for the second year and take his camaro RS 2012. Should I wait for the camaro or get a useless Toyota, honda etc?
  • What is the power drive button in my car? I got a 99 honda passport, 2 wd. I've always seen the button there but I've never used it. What does it do, and what is this power drive meant to be used for?
  • Small family car for learning to drive? Hi, I was wanting some help to do with what car to buy. The basic rundown is that I'm wanting a car a 17 year old can learn to drive in, so there's the obvious of low insurance, safety and reliability etc. It needs five seats as it will also be used as a general family car and can be up to about £6000. I have been looking around and so far am leaning towards the Honda Jazz, but any advice on the subject would be very much appreciated.
  • Why is it that some husbands let their wives drive luxury cars while they drive ordinary cars? I've been observing some of my neighbors (one of them is a stay at home mom) and the husbands drive ordinary cars like Honda Accord or Honda Pilot. But the wives tend to drive luxury cars like Acura TSX or Acura RDX (some form of luxury car). What is the reason for this? Why do wives get to drive luxury cars while the husband drives ordinary car? I should say some of them. Its not a problem though but was only curious. The neighbors are Asians actually.
