My 2002 Honda Civic is hesitating to shift from drive to reverse or from gear to gear?
Added (1). I don't know what the issue is, but it only started in the cold weather (i live in minnesota). I don't know if I need transmission fluid or what.
Is the fluid topped up?
Automatic trans fluid for Honda's has a notoriously short lifespan. If it's not too late, get a fluid & filter change As soon as possible. Then every other oil change do a trans fluid drain& fill, that's only 3qts. And hopefully your trans will live to shift another day.
Testing selenoids, before
- My 1999 manual honda prelude does not shift into 5th gear or reverse smoothly? My gears are smooth from 1-4 but then takes a lot of effort to go to 5th or reverse. Also when you get out of 5th or reverse it doesn't go straight into neutral like a normal manual car. They still work but it is very annoying that i have to push it into the gears and pull them out. What could the issue be? Transmission? Shift box? I plan on changing to a short throw shifter in the future.
- Honda superhawk bogging and hesitating problems? Ok my superhawk boggs and hesitates on long rides like it will start to bogg down then it will speed up very fast it has a very late reaction at times what might be the cause of this?
- Clunk every time I shift into reverse? I have a 2003 Acura RSX w/ 135000 miles. Every time I shift into reverse I hear a loud clunk I sometimes hear it but more faintly when it shifts to 2nd gear. The transmission shifts smoothly and I don't hear and grinding or any other abnormal sounds besides that clunk. What could the issue be? BTW honda/acura vehicles don't have ujoints since iv'e been told before it might be that.
- What is causing my 2002 honda civic ex (Automatic) to barely move in drive and reverse? My daughter uses this car and was working great one day and then the trans just about quit working. Had to tow it. When in neutral I can hear a high pitch whining sound from trans. Is there any way to fix this. The engine light is also on.
