Any other problems? Any gauges 'move' with the popping noise? ONLY thing I can think of is an electrical, but that SHOULD show-up on a alternator gauge… MIGHT haffta visit your car doctor…
Not that I have noticed, I will watch for that the next time it happens, which will probably be when I leave for lunch, but I did have the recall airbag switch serviced about a month ago and they left the "Door" open to the electrical wiring which I have not been able to close completely since, I guess I will have it looked at.

- What is the cause of 2nd gear popping back into neutral? I own a 1997 Honda Civic Ex (coupe) SOHC VTEC that has been having this issue with the manual transmission where 1st gear chugs and 2nd gear pops out back into neutral causing the gear to grind pretty hard. I've come across many forums all giving different reasons to why this happens. I'd like to get a more definitive answer (if possible) from anyone who has had issues like/or similar to this, any mechanics out there willing to send some wisdom and tips my way is greatly appreciated.
- My car won't move in any gear under its own power but rolls in park while making a grinding noise I drive a 08 Honda Civic LX automatic. Yesterday I tried to take off from a stop and heard a loud metal snapping sound followed by loud grinding. Then it wouldn t move under its own power in any gear even reverse. It starts just fine, even idles as if nothing s wrong, will rev too. I have to have the emergency brake on because it rolls in park. In park it also makes grinding noises.
