Have the fault codes read.
Check the exhaust system back pressure. It sounds like the catalytic converter is plugged up.
Oil pressure sensors won't cause that.
Ahh… NO!
No, but the infamous failed Honda timing chain tensioner can and if you let it go much longer you could have much bigger problems. Take the car in to get it checked soon.
Pull the OBD2 trouble codes and they will tell you what isn't working or is working wrong.

- Some kind of pressure release and fog came from my 2008 Honda Civic. What could it be? So my car wouldn't start this morning, mot even the power locks. AAA came out and said it looks to only be a dead battery but, with the car still running, there was a loud sound like a pressure being released and a fog came out from under the car. My wife said it smelled like freon from the air conditioner. What could that be?
- Will a oil pressure sensor cause a 1999 honda civic not to crank if oil is low? While I was driving I noticed it wouldn't go any faster while I was going about 60mph but I felt the transmission spinning and the revs were high I then pulled over and put the car in Park and noticed the engine wasn't on Or Is it seized?
- Does a broken muffler/exhaust cause a check engine light to turn on on a 97 Honda civic? Recently my muffler broke and snapped off my 97 honda civic and a day later my check engine turned on, i just got the muffler welded back on. Was the broken muffler the cause of the check engine light to turn on? Will it turn off now that i got the muffler welded back on?
