My '98 Honda Civic windshield wipers won't stop?
They will not stop when I put them into the off position. How ever if I put the switch into INT and find a spot it will stop.
I guess my question is do I need to replace my windshield wiper motor, or the switch?
No
I'd say the switch. It's in the steering column, right? That's a pain.
If it was my 20-year-old car, and I could find the right wire under the dash, I'd just install a separate master switch for the wipers. Easer than tearing apart the column.
The first thing I would do is run a new ground wire to the wiper motor housing and see if that works. Sometimes wiper will not park when the ground is bad.
Do a search on youtube just in case it's a common problem on your vehicle.
Switch is sticking closed. Replace the switch.
The fact they will stop when you've selected intermittent wipe suggests that the fault is with the self-parking function on the wiper motor.
That can be caused by a simple loose or corroded connection to the wiper motor.
The switch.

- Why don't my windshield wipers work on high speed? I have a 92 Honda Civic Si and i'm having a problem with my front wipers, sometimes they work, sometimes they get stuck and sometimes they don't work at all. They only move when i turn the off button. I changed the motor and its doing the same thing. Could it be the linkage?
- What kind of foil windshield visor thingy should be used for a 2010 2-door honda civic? I have a 2010 2 door civic and since its summer now it's getting hot so i bought one of those foil thingys that reflect the sun to keep my interior from overheating but it's too short and too wide. The bottom doesn't reach the end of my windshield and it keeps falling. What type would be a better fit?
