My car has bad oxidation. Buff or Paint?

Okay so I recently got this 2000 Honda Civic Si, it is a metallic blue color. However, the whole top side of the car ( Hood, Roof, Trunk) have oxidation pretty bad. It is on a little bit of the sides but mainly the top. I was going to try and buff it out and re wax… But my friend told me for the time and labor I would put into it, I might as well get a Maaco paint job. How much would that cost? I like the color it is, so I would want it painted the same color… And some parts don't need painting. Would I have only the bad spots painted or everything painted over?

Whatever you do forget about a maaco paint job the person I bought my 86 vette from had it painted there and 2 years after it was done the paint started coming off in sheets.(bubbles 6" in diameter) A good paint job could cost 3K or more the key is in the prep work I would try compounding first do a little of the worst by hand with compound if it works get a detailer to do it with machine compound or take it to a detail shop for an opinion and an estimate

Go get a can of 5 dollar rubbing compound first. It will do wonders. A new paint job? Not your best option. Automotive paint is extremely expensive. A decent quality paint job would cost you $2000 minimum. Sure, Maaco or similar paint centers can offer a job for less but you will have wished you had not wasted your cash.

Congrats on youre new purchase! Maaco for a cheap paint job would cost aroun 600 I think, but it really depends on what kind of quality you'd like!
