My car is making a knocking noise when my air conditioner is on?

I have a 2010 Honda Civic Hybrid. 2 weeks ago it was involved in an accident where the front end was damaged. When I got it back and turned the air conditioner on, it makes a somewhat loud knocking noise every 5 to 10 seconds. It seems to be coming from the front right side of the car. My car will vibrate, and then I will hear the noise. It doesn't ALWAYS happen when I have the A/C on, but when it is happening and then I turn the A/C off, it will stop. The radiator, condenser, and an A/C pipe was replaced. It still blows cold air.

The sound might be the clutch of the compressor engaging and disengaging, You shouldn't be hearing it that loud though. If you open the hood and have the car on with the ac you will be able to tell for sure.

  • My car won't move in any gear under its own power but rolls in park while making a grinding noise I drive a 08 Honda Civic LX automatic. Yesterday I tried to take off from a stop and heard a loud metal snapping sound followed by loud grinding. Then it wouldn t move under its own power in any gear even reverse. It starts just fine, even idles as if nothing s wrong, will rev too. I have to have the emergency brake on because it rolls in park. In park it also makes grinding noises.
  • 1992 Honda Civic Lx air conditioner? So I own a Honda 92 Civic Lx and it didn't come with an air conditioner. It does have a heater and a A/C button but when the hood is lifted there's no sign of a air conditioning system but the vents are there. How much would it cost to install a air cooling unit?
  • Knocking Noise under drivers side? I drive a 1997 Honda Accord and I have recently noticed a hard loud knocking under the drivers side door, almost where the wheel is, it speeds up when I do and slows down when I do, it has 160k miles and is in great mechanical condition other than that, breaks are new etc.
  • I have a 2012 Honda Accord. All of the sudden the car has been making a loud roaring noise while acclerating? The noise disipates when you take your foot off the gas. The noise is in the front left side of the vehicle. Just recently flushed the transmission with no resolbe. Any suggestions?
