My car is reving but won't go over 20 mph?
I have a 2002 Honda Civic, every time I try to go over 20 mph, my car won't accelerate anymore even thought the motor is reving, I need help.
Take it to the shop
Has the car gone into an 'emergency' mode - some cars have an inbuilt emergency mode that if something goes wrong with the engine, it will operate, but only at a reduced speed to prevent/limit damage.
Look up "Third gear clutch assembly" - even if your car is an automatic transmission. I have a 2003 Acura TL Type S and my car had a warranty job on that way back before I was ever the owner of my car. I had to have the transmission rebuilt again due to issue popping up with that again. It got so bad, I couldn't drive the car anywhere.
- My car turns over properly but the engine races and won't shift gears? I have a 2003 Honda CR-V with about 182,000 miles on it. Has been driving perfect until last night when I turned it on and the engine was racing like I was accelerating and I was unable to shift gears. What could be causing this and what kind of repair bill could I be looking at?
- My car won't accelerate past 20 mph but the motor is reving? I have a 2002 Honda Civic and when I try to accelerate past 20 mph it won't go anymore even when I hit 6 rm, doesn't happen at first but when I stop and try to accelerate past 20 again it won't accelerate anymore but when the car is first started it will.
- Car won't tick over or start? I have a 2002 Honda civic. I just got my battery fully charged but my car still won't tick over. It is absolutely dead. I have no clue what else it could be. No lights, no tick, no crank, no mileage display, absolutely nothing. Any ideas what it could be?
- Accidentally reving 2017 Honda Civic Si to 7 rpms? Ok so I've accidentally reved my Si to 7 rpms twice in the past day while coasting our of gear. Would that have done damage to my engine?
