My coolant temperature going up and down?
My coolant temperature was raising high last night when i got off work but when i drove it this morning i didn't have any problems. I just brought this car last week it's a 05 Honda Civic DX
So did you bother to check the level in the radiator before asking this? If it rose one time last night but then fell back and was fine, could be a sticking thermostat. At worse, a head gasket issue. This is a hard problem to solve when we can't look at the car.
Verify if the temp raises while the car stands still and drops when it's moving. That means the cooling fans are not working. Usually the cause is a bad fan relay- $15 plug n play part. In the morning you probably used the climate control- heat/ac and the fan relay associated with that also ran the radiator fans so you didn't see the problem then. To be thorough, check the coolant level in the radiator while the car is still cold, to make sure somebody didn't fry the engine and blow a head gasket.
- Why is my oil level going down so quickly? I have a 2006 Honda crv with about 84k. I have been noticing that it is seeming to go through oil rather quickly. I replace it every 3k. I really don't think there's a leak, but I'm not a mechanic. Just troubleshooting maybe?
- Why does my car engine rev up and down? It revs up and down all the way up to 3x rpm and down? Also when i step on the gas pedal it revs up all the way to the top 8x rpm and stays right there even when i let go of the gas pedal. Please anyone who can tell me why this happens? This is a 1995 honda civic by the way
- Why could my 2000 Honda Civic show it's going to overheat I have coolant a new radiator a new radiator cap a new temp gauge switch and? A new thermostat head gasket is fine could it just need to flushed and a new water pump and timing belt
- Rear window 2001 honda civic rear windows only go down 3/4 way down? My brother just bought a 2015 honda crv and his rear windows only go down 3/4 way down. Is this the way honda makes its cars where rear windows only go down 3/ way down electric. Why do they do this? Do other car makers make cars that rear windows don't go down all the way or is it honda. Why does honda do this?
