Best way to rebuild my motor?

I really want to rebuild my Honda civic 2001 motor. But it has 209k miles on it. I don't want to buy a new car because my grandpa bought it for me when I turned 16. At the time it had 195k on it. So I don't want to break his heart by selling it and buying a better car. So I want to stick with my Honda and rebuild my motor and make it a little faster. My friend has a civic and it has 240k miles and he just put a turbo in his. I'm not going to do that though I want to rebuild it. Like buy cams etc. Like buy new stuff for the motor to make it last longer. I want a new transmission (6 speed). It automatic atm. But anyways what's the best way to do this? I'm willing to spend a decent amount of cash on this. My friend thinks the best way is to boost it but i don't know. I want someone that is really experienced to give me advice. I know I'll probably be made fun of because I have a vtec motor or be called a ricer but honestly **** all the haters. I want to do this because all my friends have nice fast cars. Like mustang gts, g35, evo, boosted colbolt, s2000. And we constantly go to car meets and its kinda embarrassing when I have a stock slow civic. I can't hang with them and keep up with them. But I can't get rid of the civic I gotta stick with it so any ideas to make it faster, better, last longer, and not blow up my engine? I'm going to change my oil every 3k miles and take care of it. So please someone help me.

Navigation/Back Up Guidance system for 2003 Honda Civic?

I'm not sure if anyone is familiar with the backup camera for the newer Lexus cars, but there's a camera at the back end of most newer Lexus that turns on when you put the vehicle in reverse and shows you what you re backing up into and also has guidelines to help you show you where your vehicle will end up and also moves around as you turn the steering wheel. If you know what I'm talking about maybe you can help me.

I want to get that (or something similar) into a 2003 Honda Civic LX IF POSSIBLE. Of course I would have to buy a complete aftermarket navigation system which I'm perfectly fine with but I can't seem to find one anywhere.

Could you guys help me find one that would fit in the right car.

Has anyone ever purchased a salvage titled vehicle?

I found a 2008 Honda Civic hybrid for $5,200 by a private seller. It has 135k miles which I know is a lot for a 2008 but Hondas are known for their reliability. I had it checked out by a mechanic and all seems to be well. I won't have any problems insuring it, I just want to make sure that I'm not throwing my money away. This will be my first car by the way and I'm not interested in financing any newer Civics. I just want a car that I can use for about half a decade or so.

Added (1). I checked the VIN and it was rear ended (photos were included of the damage before the repairs).

Added (2). Okay, I did an official report on the VIN and turns out that it's not a salvaged title after all!

My old Elantra beat a Honda Civic in a race. How is that possible?

I could hear his engine roaring and he was way behind me. I didn't add anything to my hood or anything. I thought it was pretty funny because he had the spoiler and everything and I didn't have anything. The civic was a 2010 or so by the way. It looked fairly new.

Spending $3000 on a used car?

I'm 20 years old looking to buy my first car. Would a $3000 2003 Honda Civic be a good purchase? Obviously I would make sure the thing isn't completely trash and what not but are cars that are that cheap even worth it?
