1994 Honda Civic won't start when the car is hot?

I have a 94 civic dx hatchback. It seems the car only starts when it's cold.

1. The car starts in cold. After 20 to 25 minutes of driving or less minutes of freeway driving, check engine light comes on. I can still keep driving. But if I stop or pull over, the car dies. It won't start again.
2. After the car gets hot, if I throw 1 gallon of water on top of the engine, the car will start, guaranteed. The car has stopped in the middle on the road. All I needed was throw a gallon of water to get it started. If I do throw less than 1 gallon (tried half gallon), the car won't start.
3. Car had overheating issues. Fan used to not come on. Radiator, thermostat, sensor, main relay have been replaced. Fan comes on fine now. Even fan stays on sometimes if the car engine has been shut off.

Any thoughts how to go about this?

Why is my gas gauge glitching?

I have a 2004 Honda Civic, so when I went to fill up the gas tank a couple weeks ago, a few hours later, it was showing that I was halfway between full and half. Then it went back to normal a while later back at the full point. Then today, I was at the halfway point between half and empty. Then when I looked at it, it was showing that I was close to the gas light coming on and then when I looked again, it was back at the halfway point. What's the problem?

Am I getting a good deal on this 1998 Honda Civic?

I wanted other people's opinion on the car I'm going to buy. It's a 98 Honda Civic DX coupe auto transmission. I'm buying it for 2000-2300. Now, is it a good deal if it has 161,000 miles and if it's salvaged (rear bumper damage)? It also has an alarm system, aftermarket rims and an aftermarket exhaust. Minor exterior damage with only 1 noticeable scrape. Also minor interior damage. Am I getting a good deal?

If you can answer the following concerns I have it would be greatly appreciated.

1. I test drove the car with 5 people in it (including me) and the back of the car seemed to go down.

2. The rpm seems to go quite high shifting from 2nd to 3rd but I was told that it's normal in 4 cylinder automatics.

3. When I drove through a bumpy road I heard a small squeek coming somewhere from my left side.

4. Speakers or radio don't sound too great. Any way to fix this?

Thank you for answering I know it's a lot but it's my first car and I'm spending my hard earned cash on it.

Is a Honda Civic a good first car?

My parents have been looking for a car for me (I'm 17) for the past couple of months. Their price range was around $10k so we've been looking at quite a few used cars, but none have really been that great.
Today we found a used 2012 Honda Civic Coupe EX for $14.5k. It even has navigation and a sunroof. Do you think it's a good deal? And do you think it would be a good first car?
Any help is really appreciated, thank you.

Added (1). Also the mileage on the car is 35k.

Switch to non vtec without an ecu change?

I have a 97 honda civic ex vtec with a d16y8 motor that's blown. I want to replace it with a d16y7 that doesn't have vtec since it's cheaper and I hardly use it to go fast anyways. I read everywhere that it won't accelerate past 5000 rpm's if the ecu isn't switched and it will also cause a check engine light. I was wondering if there was an easy way to not have to switch the ecu but not have those problems caused.

Why do so many people hate on honda civics?

I currently drive 2000 Honda civic with 160,000 miles on it and it runs like new! The only thing I've had to replace is the brakes and the battery! Its hhonestly the most reliable car I've had and I've had a corolla and a Taurus b4 and neither one were near as good as this

Is it time for a new battery?

OK so I drive a 2008 Honda civic and its a great car. In October 2011, the battery died so I had it replaced. Lately, especially first thing in the morning, its taken a little bit longer to start. I remember b4 it died the first time it kinda did the same thing. I'm going to be driving it to CO from MO in a few days and will b in the mountains and everything. Should I get it checked. To me it seems like just yesterday when I got it replaced but it was 3 years ago! Time flies

What is a good first used car?

I'm looking to purchase a used car. I would like to have something that has a small body but isn't small on the inside (ex: scion tc, honda civic 4 door, etc). I've been looking online and I've seen a lot of older BMW's and Audi's for sale. I've been told that when foreign cars like those are old, the repair and maintenance cost are very high. I'm a college student, so I can't afford to $350 oil changes and $500 tuneups, etc…

I just want something reliable, low maintenance, and that's stylish. The Scion TC is one of my favorite's but they are expensive. I'm not looking to spend more than $7500.
