I know these cars aren't exactly on the same category (mid size vs compact size) but I got approved for a loan from a car dealership and I have to decide between these two cars. I've been hearing about about how the 2012 civics are "Honda's worst mistake" because of its cheap quality and engine power. But it's really fuel efficient which is what I need because my work commute is 40 miles round trip daily. Now the Nissan Altima I've heard has great room (since it's a midsize) and is still pretty fuel efficient even though the engine is a bit bigger. Altima seems nice, but I heard the CVT is really annoying and hard to get used to but I'll have to admit the honda's 5 speed auto trans with VTEC is kind of winning me over. Which one would be the better? Honda is also known to have "long lasting engines" but my friend has a 2005 Altima 2.5S and that one is a beauty to drive. I know it ultimately comes to what I like but some convincing from both vehicle owners would help.
Its a black '92 Honda civic. It has little dents all over it from getting caught In a hail storm. If it helps you pick a name I like to think of them as cheek dimples.
I was thinking Tammy in honor of "parks and recreation", but if you haven't seen the show, its not a very good name. Just trying to gather ideas. Its my first car and I know its not really a big deal but she's my baby.
If you're a girl, you can just give me your name. Multiple would be appreciated.
Please anyone can help me to explain how to evacuate the ac system before recharging with R134. Should I have to evacuate from both sides ( high and low) At what negative pressure Do I have to evacuate. Tell me vacuum process goes by time or -psi. Which side I have to vacuum first high or low. Or both by same time. And what shoud be the pressure of r134 after refills on engine idling and when ac and car is off. On both sides high and low. I have honda civic 2004.
Going down the road hit a bump or any speed just dies
I'm currently contemplating putting premium gas in my 2001 Honda Civic EX Coupe 5-spd MT. I've heard conflicting stories about Regular vs Premium gas. On one side, I've heard that all the octane does is prevent knocking or pinging, and putting premium gas in a car that doesn't need just wastes money, and could potentially be detrimental to the car's health. On the other side, I've heard a lot of benefits of premium gas: more power, better economy, and cleaner burns (prevents deposits and build up), the latter being particular important to me since my Civic currently has dirty injectors.
Now, I know octane is key for combustion, and I've seen and heard of many cars that switch between different grades of octane to achieve better power, but I've only really seen this in higher performing vehicles. But, then there's my personal experience with my 2014 Yamaha V Star 250 - I presume it left the lot filled with premium gas and that tank I got nearly 140 miles before having to switch to reserve (~1.6gal). I filled up with regular (twice) as per owner's manual instruction. I didn't even make it to 115 mi before having to switch to reserve. When I filled up with premium, I noticed immediately the exhaust was louder, I had more power, and my driving habit haven't changed much, so I can't find another way to account for the very noticeable discrepancy in fuel economy (74MPG vs 82MPG).
Should I put premium in my Civic? Neither vehicle states an upper octane limit. Premium is 91 here
Car does not have enough juice to crank. Everything turns on but only clicking noise. I get a jump and it is fine for a few days.
Yesterday radio starts turning off and on. Today the air conditioner (on full blast) increases power when I accelerate.

Bought this car last week. So far having problems but keeping hope.
One key to the car but it doesn't work for any of the doors, the trunk, and works in the ignition with some jiggling and pressing the brake usually helps.
Is it a bad key?
Jammed locks from rust/water?
It fits into the keyhole but not turn, honda owners where can I start?
