Why are the lights on my 99 Honda Civic LX pulsing?

So I bought this car from someone off the facebook marketplace.

After I purchased it realized the headlights kinda flickered sorta bad, along with the instrument lights and reading light. I started to look into it right away, cleaned the ground connections best I could, Took out the headlights and cleaned their grounds as well as their sockets and found some melted plastic on both of the sockets.

Put it all back together and had 0 problems for a few days. Then one day I started my car, turned on my lights and they started pulsing worse than before. So i pulled over, turned my car off and restarted it. The problem went away.

It came back every so often, so i taped some wires in the engine bay even though i saw no exposed wires or anything that looked off. This made the problem way worse so i took all the tape off.

Sometimes they flicker when i first start my car and sometimes they don't at all.
Once i get up to and past 1500 rpm the problem isn't really noticeable.
There's an aftermarket stereo but nothing that i think would have immense power draw.

If anyone has any ideas on how i could fix this please let me know.

Are daughters treated better than sons?

My dad bought my sister a brand new Honda Civic but he told me I have to work for my car. I do more around the house and don't get into trouble so it's not like she deserves to be treated better.

Would you say that epa est. 35mpg hwy/25 city good gas mileage in today's standards?

I currently am driving a 2002 Honda Civic LX which I love, but might end up getting a newer car. Right now I'm averaging 26mpg with my Civic because I'm usually driving around town, and the only time I'm really on the highway is on my 60 mi round trip to school.

The car I plan on getting is a 2014-2017 Jetta. I test drove the '17 Passat on a 1,000 mi road trip to Northern California and loved it and averaged 30 mpg the whole trip. I know that both the Jetta SEL and the Passat SEL share the same 1.8T engine. I liked the peppiness of the engine and the overall smoothness of the ride. The 1.4T engine gets even better gas mileage, but I feel as though the power might lack. Is 35hwy/25city good for the 1.8T. The thing is that I liked the mileage but I don't know if I can achieve the same mileage of the 1.4T with the 1.8T. On a side-note I haven't test drove a 1.4T so maybe I might feel as though the power is adequate for today's standards. And I'm a lead food.

Added (1). I suppose the first statement implies that i'm getting a new car to save money on gas, but this is not the case. The key word in this case is "might", so i might get a newer car. If in the case that I do get a new car, I was wondering if this is good enough gas mileage for today's standards.

Rear motor mount Honda Civic si 2015?

I'm replacing the rear motor mount in my civic but when I go the piece in place the other two bolts didn't like up with the brackets on the engine. Also I stabilized the engine with a jack and some wood but through me trying to line it up the engine did shift quite a bit. Any helpful tips or tricks so I can get this piece in?
