Seafoam engine cleaner on high mileage car? 95 civic?

I have a 1995 Honda civic ex with 205, xxx miles on the stock d16. It has been routinely maintenance and runs very strong. I have been searching or things to make it last and work more efficiently and came across seafoam. The stuff that goes into your break booster and loosens up the carbon deposits. Please don't answer this if you haven't had any experience with the product or don't know what it is, as I'm new to this too. I have done some research and read that if a car has high mileage the carbon deposits could actually be keeping compression up and stopping leaks. Will my car benefit from a seafoam application?

"runs very strong" Why screw with it?

Had this done on my J series motor. A lot of mechanics recommended it too me. My J series had over 200k on it when it was done (TB was also cleaned). I didn't notice any difference in performance, but the smoke that came out the exhaust did go from darker to whiter (it will give off a lot of exhaust smoke the 1st run after it's done). Still have my J series & it still runs strong. I can't say if the seafoam helped, but it didn't hurt.
BTW- I received the service as a gift so I wasn't at a loss for any $.

If it's well maintained, you don't need it. If it hasn't been well maintained, no miracle in a bottle will bring it back to life. Don't mess with it.

Stop screwing around with your car more.

  • I'm buying a bike/scooter 125cc, what would be considered high or low mileage? I'm looking to purchase a Honda CBF, Honda CBR, Aprilla RS, Yamaha YBR or Yamaha YZF… Any recommendations? Anyway, to the main point! I was wondering what a high mileage for a 125cc scooter/motorbike would be? And how old of a mototbike I should get? I understand that it depends on how the person has looked after the bike etc however, what would be considered a high mileage, low mileage and medium mileage?
  • When to start using Fuel Injection Cleaner? I have a 2009 Honda Civic with 57K mileage. I drive about 150 miles a week.(Not including Saturdays/Sunday) I'm not sure when to start using Fuel Injection Cleaner, but if I do, what brand should I use? Or is it too early for me to start using it.
  • Newer Honda Civic idle low/uneven - would fuel system cleaner All of a sudden I keep noticing that the idle on my Civic is low or uneven and it seems like it might stall out sometimes. I'm wondering what different things it could be and could it possibly help to use on of those additives that supposedly clean the fuel system.
  • Is 190560 miles on a 98 Honda civic lx considered high mileage? My sister gave me her civic and it runs great. There's hasn't been major problems since I've had it, other than the coil. With the right amout of money it was an easy fix. I've been wanting to change the oil but the guy at Wal-Mart suggested that I use the high mileage oil. I don't think it'll really hurt my car at any rate but is my car really high mileage?
