Should I sell my Corolla for a Civic?

So I have a 2005 Toyota Corolla with 50k miles (used to be my grandmas and she drove it little). I've had it for over a year and it's absolutely perfect, no issues whatsoever, but it's kind of a boring car without a lot of aftermarket parts. I'm 19 and in college so I need a reliable car that's good on gas, so I was thinking of selling it for a different, more fun, used 4 cylinder car. I think a Honda Civic would be a good choice, I don't plan on ricing it out or anything but from what I see it's a bit more of a fun, better handling car. I'd also like to get a manual instead of an automatic (my Corolla is an auto and I've driven stick and like it much better).

So, do you guys think it's worth selling my Corolla, getting hopefully around 9 grand for it, and getting a used Civic? Or is it not gonna be worth it? Any input is appreciated.

If the only reason is that you want a less boring car then forget about it. What if the Civic is not in similarly good condition? Keep in mind that it's a car commonly owned by teenagers so it was probably abused. Just keep your current ride

By more fun you mean you can race… Race around with the other Honda racers.

Your in school, keep the good and dependable car until your out of school. Trading DOWN is foolish and stupid. It is not worth it, time to think like a grown up.

Keep what you have. You know its history. Quit trying to be cool and be real…

Absolutely not.
Corollas are just the same as the Civics in terms of engine and performance. They are very comparable.
What you can do in terms of aftermarket parts on a Civic and be done on the Corolla as well.

Keep you Corolla since you know it was not abused by your Grandma, and take good care of it and it will outlast those riced out Civics since they were most likely driven hard and over modified.

  • Should I sell my car and invest the money? I have 2 cars. A 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse and an 2006 Honda S2000. I'm thinking of selling the Honda and getting 12-15k for it. Then investing that money. I have a friend who builds and flips houses. He said if I invest he'll give me a good return on it when they sell. I forgot the percentage he said, but it was higher than doing a cd or anything like that. I like my car, but I only drive that one once a week or so. Should I try and sell it and use it to make more money?
  • Should I sell my aging car? I'm currently own a 1997 Automatic Honda Prelude that I use as my daily driver. I've had it for about 2 years with no issues but I will be moving to the city for my sophomore year of college. I have saved enough money to buy myself a newer used car. Should I keep the car even if the repairs that will come later on will cost more than what its worth, or sell it for a used Nissan 350z?
  • Should I sell my 2008 Honda TRX700XX? I don't need to sell but was wondering if the value of this quad is going down? If it is than I would like to sell it. Please help me make a wise decision?!
  • I sell cars for 1800$ or less but the taxes are almost here could I sell this car for 3000$? It's a 2004 Suzuki Verona 159,000 miles Automatic It's in exelent condition no problems But do you think I'll get 3000$ for it? Most people usually want a honda or Toyota
