Time belt scratching noise, not the ussual high pitch noise?
I noticed a loud sound last night when i was parking. It was coming from the front left side if my honda civic. So i thought it could have been my transmission.
Today u drove again, and the noise was still there. But i realized it was inly when i turned the wheel. (There wuld be a tiny noise, but when i turnd the wheel it would get loud.) so i thought it had something to do with my rotors.
Then i popped the hood and had somebody else turn the wheel so i could trace the sound. Turns out it seems like thw sound is comin from the time belt. Ussually the time belt makes an annoying high pitched sound, i don't know why it sounds like a scratching noise.
I thought, maybe it was lose?
Or whatever spins the timebelt needs to be replaced.
I think you mean the serpentine belt that drives the alternator, A/C and power steering you may have low power steering fluid
- Window tint keeps scratching in honda? I had window tint and when I roll down they make a screeching noise. The two back ones leave scratches and I put felt to prevent it. I took once already but it keep happening. Is it the felt too close to window if I take felt and tint off will it go away? It's frustrating how it is.
- Hit a pothole, car makes scratching noise on bumps? I hit a pothole going about 50 mph on a highway entrance ramp. Car drives fine but on any sort of bump/dip in the road, the car makes a scratching/grinding noise from the left front tire (the tire that hit the pothole). It's an 05 Honda pilot, not lowered. What do y'all think it might be?
- Is 10.5% interest high on a 1st time buy? I was able to get a brand new 2014 Honda civic first time buying. I have good credit around 700 but I have never own anything in my name or bought anything. Trade my old truck in and gave me 4500 for it but my payments are still 338$ for 72 months. I'm worried if I made the right decision.
- How do we know it's time for replacing a timing belt? My 2002 Civic has over 200k miles on the odometer. I replaced the timing belt at 153k miles about just a few years ago at a Honda dealership. The Honda technician said that the belt carries a guarantee of 90k miles.
