Tire pressure light keeps coming on?

I just got new tires for my 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid last month after they kept getting flat and the warning light was on. I drove my car today and the light came on again. I don't understand how they keep getting flat or if this is a common problem with these cars? Any help? I don't wanna keep buying tires.

Its probably not the tires. When the TPMS sensor battery goes out, you have replace all 4 TPMS sensors. Most cars (2006 and up I think) have TPMS sensors. Its part of the new safety requirement, although I think its just so the dealerships & big repair chains like Firestone keep getting richer. Check the tire pressure, the old fashioned way, with a pressure gauge (cheap at Autozone or Oreilly). The TPMS sensors lifetime are usually 4 years.

Try putting some air in the tires. The pressure will leak away over a month. That's normal.

Hi the faulty lies with the sensors on the tires or valves of the tires. Or even month body module unit another computer like the engine management unit. They talk to each other via highway buss.

Check the tire pressure to make sure it's not a bad sensor. If the tire really is low the first place to check for a leak is the valve stem. Mix a little water and dish soap, take the cap off the stem and pour in. If you see bubbles you have a leak.

Sounds like you have a very slow leak. Since you changed the tires you can rule them out. That leaves the wheels and the valve stem. Go back to where you had the tires installed and tell them. They will probably fix the problem as a courtesy. Either the tires are leaking around the rim or they need to change a leaky valve stem.

  • Punctured tire replacement - can I replace only 1 tire - is it safe to replace the PUNCTURED tire only? My 2005 Honda Pilot rear left tire was punctured near the threshhold (ie - sidewall), but still usable. Thus the tire dealer patched it only. Should I replace that punctured tire only? Or should I replace the 2 tires on the same axle? Or even buy a whole set of 4 tires? I'm concerned about safety, and thus your best advice is very appreciated.
  • Honda Shadow Aero, Recommended tire pressure? I have a 2007 Honda Shadow Aero 750, What is the recommended tire pressure for this? It shows I have 10 psi in the front which looks to be impossible. Because it is not flat or even close when parked and when sat on. (I'm 300 pounds, I think it would droop. And the back says I have 25. How much do I need?
