Turbocharger or Supercharger on 2012 Honda Civic Si coupe?

Which one is the most reliable so to speak? As a college student, I'd prefer the one that is least likely to cause the car to breakdown.

Added (1). and which one is better for mpg?

Use your money for tuition and books. Being a ricer will only get you far in limited respects.

Neither. Keep your car stock.

Even after doing internals like aftermarket con rods and low compression pistons… A boosted car is less reliable than normally aspirated and is never more fuel efficient because you have to buy premium fuel and it's too hard to keep your foot out of the boost zone.

Neither, they both force more gas through the engine so it is futile to think about gas mileage. You say you are in college, so act your age, act like a grown up, you don't need to put mods on a Civic to go to college dude. You are not still in high school, man up then you can get a real sports car after you get your degree.

A stock k24 can boost 20 pounds easily. Supercharger would probably last longer since its just an intake manifold. But a turbo is always better for morepower. You need to get a tune can't just slap it on. Supercharger runs on a belt too so I don't know I'd probably get the turbo now that I think about it.

  • Should I add a turbocharger for my Honda? I got a honda CR-V 2.0 Exi MT last year, but I want it run faster with more horse power. Someone suggest me to add a turbocharger. I feel comfuse about how does the turbocharger work on, and should i really need add one? Any suggesstions are appreciated!
  • Which car is better 2016 Honda Civic coupe or 2016 Hyundai Genesis coupe? I'm looking for a new car and these two are the only cars that fit my budge as a sporty car. The Honda Civic has a v cylinder engin and Genesis has v6. Civic offers Apple car play whereas Genesis does not… They both have many pors and cons to them and I can't decide which one is better and worthwhile… Please I need opinions!
  • What would be a better car a 2012 Honda Civic or a 2012 KIA Soul? I'm going to buy one of those cars and I want to know the best things about them both. What do you guys recommend.
  • Used 2012 Honda Civic Coupe with 60,000 miles. Is it ok to buy? I'm looking at a Certified Pre-owned Honda Civic Coupe. It's 2012 with 60k miles on it and Carfax said it averaged 22k miles per year. No accidents reported and only one owner. The price is good is $14,000 right now and I'll probably negotiate it down. The main question: Is 60k too much on a 2.5 year old vehicle? Even if it's CPO?
