What can I do in this voided car lease situation?

I recently got a lease on a Honda Civic and they let me drive it off the lot. Then a week later they send me a letter rescinding the contract. Does that mean I could just return the car and I get the car I traded in for it back? The letter did state that I was supposed to return the vehicle which I'm trying to do but the dealer keeps on giving me excuses. Is there any loopholes that I don't know about that will make me keep the Civic? They were stating that even if the lease wasn't approved, that it didn't mean I could return the car because they got me approved for a purchase. BUT I didn't sign it yet. So am I still obligated to purchase the car or not? Lastly if they do give my old car back, will I have to pay any penalties for (mileage, etc) I put on the car? If any answer, please give in full detail.

If the deal was voided, the dealer would be on the phone to get the car back. If they haven't been, it may mean they are looking at other funding sources.
You are obligated to the terms you agreed to but not more.

You don't have to put more down or pay more per month. If they try that you can return the car & walk away with a full refund of your down payment.

However, they will probably try to charge you for mileage. Id fight that.

Dealer has more to lose than you. If they aren't calling, its not serious yet.

Your trade-in is gone. They fixed it, painted it and sold it for twice they gave you for it. You need to talk to them and make them spell it all out whether or not you have a deal or if they can give you your money back without you needing to sue them. For a lease, what the devil did you trade in a car for? The point of leasing is to not have to make a down payment. I'm guessing they planned from the git to clean your out.
