What car is better and will last longer? Mazda 6 '08 vs Honda Civic '06?

I currently have a Honda 06 with about 104,000 miles on it and my mom said I can either keep my Honda or take her Mazda 6 with around 80,000 miles on it. Now I know that the Mazda has less mileage but I hear that Hondas will last forever. I want my car to last me for at least a couple more years maybe 10 if I'm lucky. I don't drive far at all either. What car is a better choice for the long run?

What car is a better choice for the long run? I agree with 2 previous answers. Based on your preferences I would go with Honda Civic. Be ready for the repairs in future, but if it was maintained well by the previous owner, it should still last for a few years. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans. The Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want. Both are good cars, but given the choice I'd probably keep the Honda as it should get slightly better fuel economy. The difference in mileage isn't enough to worry about.

There's no wrong answer about which car to choose, you could toss a coin, and either will be fine. Hi there's nothing to chose between these two except neither will last over two years without some sort of issue. The mazda has more chance because it has not done the mileage. Both cars should give you inexpensive motoring up to around 150k miles. What I'd be more concerned about is rust and whether or not Mazda has starting dealing with its chronic rust problem by the 08 model year.

  • Mazda reliability? Particularly 2013 mazda 3? I'm in the market for a new car and I was looking between 2013 Toyota corolla which is just boring and doesn't have as much features compared to Honda, or mazda. The Mazda 3 is at a good price 1000 dollars cheaper then the Toyota. So my question is, is Mazda reliable for that generation, or should I stick with a very well known reliable car maker?
  • Which car is better, the 2016 Honda Civic EX-T or the 2016 Mazda 6 i sport? I'm getting a new car next month, and my choices have been cut down to these two cars. I'm having difficulty deciding. Which one is better? Please list spec differences (exterior and interior) as well as the reasoning behind your decision.
  • Is the Honda civic(NOT SI) much faster than the Mazda 3? Which has better handling? Is the civic much faster than the base Mazda 3? Which has better handling? The car I'm comparing is a 2006 Mazda 3 I touring sedan with a 5 speed manual vs a 2007 Honda Civic lx with a 5 speed manual as well. Also which car can take sharper corners at higher speeds?
  • How much longer do you think my car should last me? I've had my car for a little more than three years. It's a Honda accord 1993. It never had no major problems. My only concern is how it is eating up/leaking oil. My dad helps me keep up on my tires, brake shoes, ect. But everywhere i park ii leaves oil spots underneath my car. But other than that I've never had it break down or nothing. A couple of odd noises here and there but no noises lately. I'm just wanting someone else's opinion. It has 18841 miles.
