What is this cable in my car and what is it for?

I have a cable in my car. It looks like a via cable but it has a slot instead of pins. I have a 2006 Honda Civic. Does anyone know? I know it's not for the on board computer because that s under the steering wheel. Looks like it was put in the arm rest after purchase… Does anyone know?

Probably for a phone or ipod that a previous owner had - possibly the first owner back in 2006.
It is unlikely that the car is compatible with a newer phone, so don't expect to be able to connect a modern smartphone to it.
